Altered Book Club for Teens

Back by popular demand, we are beginning an Altered Book Club for teens. If you remember from this summer, we took discarded books and transformed into works of art. With the Altered Book Club, you will have the opportunity to continue working on the book that you began this summer or start an entirely new work of art!

Our first meeting will be on Monday, October 13th, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Be sure to sign up at the Circulation Desk because space is limited to the first 15 participants.

Deep in the Art of Summer

Teen Summer Reading Experience 2008 kicks off today! As always, there will be a lot of reading (we hope), a lot of killer prizes (figuratively speaking), and a lot of great activities to help you stay out of trouble.

Our theme this year is “Deep in the Art of Summer,” so you’ll have lots of chances to get in touch with art — and your inner artist! Over the summer we’ll explore local museums, transform old books into works of art, and see the Northern Indiana premier of award-winning indie film The Passenger.

For more info, keep checking here or ask one of our friendly young adult staff!
