Teens’ Top Ten for 2010

It’s time to vote for YALSA’s Teen’s Top Ten!  You may be wondering what the Teens’ Top Ten is.  It is a teens’ choice list of your favorite books from the previous year!  The winners will be announced during Teen Read Week in October!  I’m pulling for Catching Fire, Geektastic, If I Stay, Beautiful Creatures and Shiver.  Who do you want to see in the Top Ten?

It’s official, Summer Reading is over.  We drew for the Grand Prizes last week, so let’s give a  congratulations to all of our winners!  They are John R., Monica T., Bella T., Helen R., Ben G., Stefanie B., Nicholas G., Sadie D., Joy M., Christian G., Celia R., Mayra C., Mercede G., Esthefany R., Kelsey R., Rosalyn M., Nikaya W., Vince T., Zach G., Ethan F. and Ian K.!

Michael and I decided that an image of a Gatorade Shower, as seen above with the Celtics’ coach, would be an appropriate image to celebrate your winnings.  We were tempted to give everyone a Gatorade Shower when they claimed their prize, but decided against it since Gatorade would be hazardous for the books in the library!

I love the summertime for two reasons.  First, and probably the most obvious, is summer reading at the library.  What can I say, I enjoy putting together programs where we can have Iron Chef competitions and food review sessions at the library.

The second reason, which is not a surprise to many,  is So You Think You Can Dance.  I love this show to no end!  The dancing and choreography are fantastic.  Last night, this was my favorite performance by far!  Which was yours?
