Award Season!

It is officially award season, and I am not just talking about all of the awards handed out for movies and television shows!  I am talking about award season for books!  Seriously, can you tell how excited I am by all of the exclamation points!?!

Here is the official list of who won which award according to YALSA:

The Michael L. Printz went to Libba Bray for Going Bovine. The Printz Honor Books included Charles and Emma:  The Darwins’ Leap of Faith by Deborah Heiligman, The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey, Punkzilla by Adam Rapp and Tales of the Madman Underground:  An Historical Romance 1973 by John Barnes.

YALSA also announced the Alex Award, Best Books for Young Adults, YALSA award for Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults, Odyssey Award, and the William C. Morris Debut.

Now that you know how YALSA ranked your favorite teen books of 2010, what do you think?  Should Libba have won the Printz?  Was there another debut YA author who should have received a Morris nod?

Entry filed under: Books, teens.

Congratulations to Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer!
