The Learning Curve

A couple of weeks ago, Ann-Margaret, Michael and I traveled to Indianapolis for the Indiana Library Federation Conference.  At the conference, we spoke about our 2008 teen summer reading program and visited with other Indiana librarians.

Being that all three of us love libraries, we couldn’t pass up the chance to tour the recently renovated Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library.  The building was AMAZING!  One of the entrances had the appearance of an ancient Greek temple.  In contrast to the entry way, the atrium looked like an industrial forest of steel pillars and glass.  We also thought you might like to see The Learning Curve, which allows kids of all ages to have hands on experience with limitless amounts of information and technology.

Who Says You Can’t Play With Your Food?

Come join the Goshen Public Library Teen Services on Tuesday, December 23rd, for snack art.  We will be creating works of art using your favorite snack food and other found objects in the Schrock Auditorium at 3:00 p.m.  We will photograph your sculpture once you complete it.  Then, you will get a chance to eat it!  Space is limited to the first 20 teens who register.  So, sign up at the Front Desk today.  This event is free and open to teens in grades 6-12.

If you are curious with what snack art is, here is an example of Indy artist Terry Border…marshmallow
